Teachers Health Trust (THT Health) provides a specialized health insurance plan for educators in the Clark County School District (CCSD), including those at participating charter schools, as well as employees of CCEA, Career & Technical Education (CTE), or Teachers Health Trust itself. Here’s a summary of the health plan types and benefits they offer:
Comprehensive Plan
This primary plan offers extensive coverage, including medical with prescription, dental, vision, and life insurance for the subscriber. Coverage for eligible employees and their dependents starts on the first day of the month after employment begins.
Hospital Supplement Plan
For employees without dependents who choose not to participate in the Medical Plan, there’s a Hospital Supplement Plan available. It provides dental, vision, and life insurance benefits, and pays a daily amount for each day of inpatient hospitalization or observation, up to a lifetime maximum.
Vision Plans
In collaboration with VSP, THT Health offers two vision plans that range from basic eye care to more comprehensive coverage options, catering to different vision care needs.
Preventive Care
Preventive care services, including screenings and immunizations, are fully covered without any out-of-pocket costs to the subscriber, helping to identify and address health issues early on.
No Referral Requirement
THT Health has eliminated the need for referrals when seeing doctors, although some specialists may still require a referral from a Primary Care Physician. This change was implemented to make accessing care easier for members.
Health and Wellness Programs
THT Health is developing health and wellness programs targeting conditions such as COPD, diabetes, heart health, and obesity, to assist members in managing their health conditions.
Eligibility and Enrollment
Eligible individuals include CCSD licensed employees, CCSD licensed employees at participating charter schools, and employees of CCEA, CTE, or Teachers Health Trust. Coverage extends to legal spouses or registered domestic partners, children up to age 26, and dependent children of any age who are physically or mentally unable to care for themselves. New hires must enroll within 31 days from their start date through the Teachers Health Trust enrollment portal.THT Health is committed to providing its members with high-quality health care benefits, emphasizing transparency and the pursuit of optimal health outcomes.
