Who this page is for

Addiction is a treatable medical condition.

Not a character flaw, not a failure of willpower, and not something anyone gets out of by being told to try harder. Plenty of the people reading this are not the person using, and they are not asking out of turn either.

If it is you

You do not have to be at your worst to qualify, and you do not have to have decided anything before you call. People ring to ask what detox actually feels like, or whether they would lose their job. Both are good reasons to call.

If it is someone you love

You can verify their coverage without them present, ask what a first conversation should sound like, and find out what would actually happen if they said yes. Knowing the answers before you raise it changes how that conversation goes.

Calling about someone else? Our families and loved ones page covers these questions from that side.

What treatment here involves

What treatment includes at Virtue Recovery Center.

Evidence-based therapy

CBT, DBT, EMDR, motivational approaches and 12-step integration. The same clinical backbone at every facility, matched to the person rather than applied uniformly.

Mental health treated with it

Anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD addressed in the same plan by the same team. Not referred out, not postponed until the substance use is handled.

Family brought in

Family therapy, family sessions and support groups run across our facilities. Recovery is rarely a solo project, and neither is the thing it is recovering from.

Case management from day one

The practical parts. Work, court dates, documentation, what happens after discharge, handled alongside the clinical work rather than left to the end.

The shape of it

Treatment is a continuum rather than one fixed program, and where you start is decided with you.

First

Assessment

A conversation about what has been happening, your health, and what you are actually using. It decides where you start.

Usually next

Medically supervised care

Detox where physical dependence is in the picture, then residential or outpatient treatment depending on what the assessment found.

Throughout

Therapy and mental health care

Individual and group work on what sits underneath the substance use, with co-occurring conditions treated in the same plan.

Before you leave

Aftercare planning

What happens on the other side, decided during treatment rather than on the day it ends.

If someone is in withdrawal and physically unsafe right now, go to an emergency room first and call us afterwards.

What we treat

Alcohol counts, even when everyone around you drinks too.

It is legal, it is everywhere, and it is the one thing you can drink at a work lunch. That makes it the easiest to tell yourself is not a problem, and the hardest to say out loud to anyone. It counts when it is a problem for you, and you do not have to have lost anything yet to pick up the phone.

Most people are not dealing with one substance either. If your answer to “what are you using” is complicated, that is the normal answer rather than a disqualifying one.

Court and legal

We work with courts, probation and attorneys all the time.

If a court date or a probation requirement is part of your situation, mention it on the first call and it gets built into the plan from the start rather than sorted out at the end.

What case management covers

The practical side alongside the clinical work, including documentation of attendance and completion where it is required.

I recommend Virtue Recovery Center to anyone looking for a well-rounded and accommodating rehab facility. ESA and service animals are allowed. They have awesome staff, the food is GREAT, and they go to outside meetings and outings. BHT Victor was always great with me and my dog.

Truly a wonderful place. Laid back atmosphere but definitely not too laid back. The therapists are amazing, the nursing blew me away as well. All of the staff are amazing. The facility itself is very nice and always clean. Virtue Recovery saved my life — need I say more!

I absolutely love this place — very nice and very bougie! I would never go any other place for help detoxing. The staff truly cares and the nurses are seriously THE BEST EVER. When I left I was able to continue my recovery successfully.

(866) 461-3339
What does addiction treatment actually involve?
Addiction treatment typically starts with an assessment to understand your situation, followed by medically supervised care that may include detox, residential treatment or outpatient support, alongside therapy that addresses what sits underneath the substance use. Every plan is different because every situation is different.
Is addiction treatable?
Yes. Addiction is a treatable medical condition, and long-term recovery is achievable with the right combination of medical care, therapy and support. Relapse can be part of the process for some people, and it does not mean treatment failed or that recovery is out of reach.
Do you treat mental health conditions along with addiction?
Yes. Co-occurring conditions like anxiety, depression and trauma are common alongside substance use, and our approach treats both together rather than as separate problems handled by separate people.
What substances do you treat?
Alcohol, methamphetamine, opioids including fentanyl and heroin, cocaine, benzodiazepines, kratom and prescription medication, including situations where more than one substance is involved. Our team can talk through your situation whatever it looks like.
I am calling for someone I love, not for myself. Can you still help?
Yes, and a large share of the people who reach out are doing exactly that. We can help you understand the options and the next steps, and you can check their insurance on their behalf without needing their permission first.
Does insurance cover addiction treatment?
Most major plans cover at least part of addiction treatment, and our team can verify your specific benefits quickly and at no cost. What a plan covers varies by facility and by level of care, which is why we check rather than quote.
I am not sure what level of care I need. How do I figure that out?
You do not have to. A clinical assessment is what determines whether detox, residential or another level is the right starting point, and our admissions team arranges one on a short, confidential call. Nothing about it commits you to anything.
Can you help if there is a court date or legal situation involved?
Yes. We regularly work with people navigating court or probation requirements alongside treatment, including documentation of attendance and completion where that is required. Mention it on the first call and it gets built into the plan.
How soon can treatment start?
Often sooner than people expect. Once the assessment and insurance verification are done, many people are able to begin quickly. Our team can talk through your situation and the next steps right away and tell you what is realistic for you.
