Recovery is possible
Binge eating disorder is the most common eating disorder — and one of the least talked about.
Binge eating disorder involves recurring episodes of eating with a real sense of loss of control, often followed by shame, guilt, or distress. It's a recognized medical condition, not a lack of discipline — and it very often occurs alongside substance use, depression, anxiety, or trauma.
Treatment here is about your relationship with food and the emotions underneath it — never about weight. We don't do diets, food rules, or restriction, because those approaches tend to make binge eating worse, not better.
The differentiator
Binge eating and addiction share the same roots. We treat them the same way — together.
Binge eating disorder is the eating disorder that most resembles addiction — the same loss of control, compulsivity, and shame, with food instead of a substance. Many people we see with BED are also managing substance use, and the two often come from the same place: emotional pain, stress, or trauma that needs somewhere to go. Our Las Vegas program treats the binge eating, any substance use, and what's underneath both as one clinical picture.

Levels of care
Residential for the eating disorder. Outpatient for when it's co-occurring.
Primary binge eating disorder treatment happens at the residential level — a dedicated villa at Corbett, typically 30 to 45 days. When binge eating occurs alongside substance use, PHP and IOP at Montessouri treat both together as one co-occurring program, not as standalone eating-disorder outpatient.

Getting the right care
We'll help you find the right starting point.
This program treats adults 18 and older. If you're a parent or caregiver worried about a teenager, we're not able to treat adolescent eating disorders here — but call us anyway. We'll talk through what you're seeing and help point you toward care that's appropriate for their age.
Our team assesses the right starting point for every person who calls, and we're direct about what fits and what doesn't — without judgment, and without ever framing treatment as being about weight.
We're proud to serve veterans and active-duty service members, including through TRICARE, with extended lengths of stay when clinically appropriate.

(866) 461-3339- Do you treat binge eating disorder and addiction together?
- Yes. Many people who reach out to us for binge eating disorder are also struggling with alcohol or drug use, and our Las Vegas program treats both together as part of one integrated plan. Binge eating and substance use often share the same underlying drivers — emotional pain, stress, or trauma — so addressing them at the same time, alongside any depression or anxiety, gives you a stronger path to lasting recovery.
- What is binge eating disorder?
- Binge eating disorder (BED) involves recurring episodes of eating large amounts of food with a sense of loss of control, often followed by shame, guilt, or distress. It's the most common eating disorder — and, importantly, it's a recognized medical condition, not a matter of willpower or a lack of discipline. Effective treatment addresses the emotional and psychological roots of the behavior, not just the eating itself.
- How is binge eating disorder treated?
- BED treatment at Virtue combines evidence-based therapy, nutrition support, and care for any co-occurring conditions. Our clinicians use approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy for binge eating (CBT-BM) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to build emotional-regulation and coping skills, while our registered dietitian helps you rebuild a peaceful, non-restrictive relationship with food. Because dieting and restriction can make binge eating worse, our nutrition approach is supportive and all-foods-fit — never punishing.
- Is binge eating disorder the same as food addiction?
- They share a lot in common — both involve a loss of control, compulsive patterns, and using food to cope — which is one reason our co-occurring treatment model fits binge eating disorder so well. Whether you think of it as BED, compulsive overeating, or food addiction, our team treats the behavior and its underlying causes with the same compassion we bring to substance use recovery.
- What levels of care do you offer for binge eating disorder?
- Our dedicated eating disorder program in Las Vegas is residential (inpatient), with 24/7 care in a private-room setting. For clients whose binge eating co-occurs with substance use, we also offer partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) that treat both conditions together. If detox from alcohol or drugs is needed first, we provide medically monitored withdrawal management before treatment begins.
- Do you treat teens with binge eating disorder?
- Our eating disorder program is for adults 18 and older. If you're looking for care for a teenager, we understand how important that is, and while we can't treat adolescents in this program, we're glad to help you find appropriate adolescent eating disorder care — just call us and our team will help point you in the right direction.
